Meet Senior Pastor, Greg Comfort

Pastor Greg Comfort was born over a half a century ago in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to Dr. Earl and JoAnn Comfort. The son of a pastor, Greg grew up under the tutelage of his father Earl, who has served the Lord for over 40 years.

Greg graduated from Taylor University with a degree in Bible Literature and he received a Masters Degree in Systematic Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. He has over 25 years in the ministry serving churches in Michigan, New Hampshire, and New Jersey. Greg prepares for all of his sermons by studying scripture in the original Greek and Hebrew and his passion in ministry, Expository Preaching, is one of the cornerstones of the vision that God has given him for Surfside Chapel.

Greg and “the wife of his youth”, Sue, reside in Freehold, New Jersey. They have four children: Austen, a recent graduate of Hillsdale College; Parker, a student at Liberty University; Maddie, a student at Messiah College; and Preston, who attends Barkalow Middle School in Freehold. Greg is an avid reader, cyclist, and the entire family shares a passion for surfing, which was passed down from his father Earl. You can email Greg through the “contact us” section of this website.
